For generations, the highlight of Irish social life was the Hooley. Music, dance, song good
conversation and merriment flowed freely as described in the Percy French song,
“ There’s a Hooley on in Hannigan’s House Tonight”.

11:30a.m.: Festival Grounds Open

12:00 – 12:30: Opening Ceremony

12:30 – 1:45: Fiona Molloy (Website)
Fiona Molloy was born in Derry, Northern Ireland. She began singing and playing music at an early age. Her involvement in the Irish Peace Rallies during “the troubles” led her to be dubbed, “Derry’s Songbird of Peace.” She moved to New York and then to Wisconsin where she remains an internationally acclaimed entertainer.


2:00 - 3:30: Stephen's Green
The Dublin natives Andy o’Driscoll and martin Doyle, known as Stephen’s Green, have performed at festivals, fairs and concerts throughout the uS and europe, bringing their unique talents to a wide audience of enthusiasts. www.stephens-green.com.

3:30 – 4:00: The Claddagh Irish Dancers
Dubuque’s own irish dance troupe, led by Ann Schroeder, performs soft shoe and hard shoe individual and group dance numbers.


4:00– 5:30: Wylde Nept

This high energy band hailing from Cedar Rapids returns to perform their unique mix of traditional and original celtic pub tunes.

Dubuque’s own irish dance troupe, led by Ann Schroeder, performs soft shoe and hard shoe individual and group dance numbers.

This young irish band from madison blends world instruments such as the bodhran, bagpipes, fiddle and guitar with powerful vocals in performing celtic standards and their own innovative music. www.risinggael.com

8:30-10:30: Gaelic Storm (www.gaelicstorm.com)
Since their self-titled first album and their appearance in the film Titanic, Gaelic Storm has thundered onto stages around the world. on St. Patrick’s Day, 1996, Patrick Murphy of Cork City, Ireland (vocals, accordion, harmonica) joined forces with Steve Twigger of coventry, england (vocals, guitar), at O’Brien’s pub in Santa Monica, California. Gaelic Storm also includes: Ryan Lacey on drums and world percussion , Pete Purvis of Merrickville, Ontario on uillean pipes, tin whistle, daeger pipes and highland pipes, and the newest member of the band Jessie Burns on fiddle (originally from Suffolk, england, now living in colorado).

HOSPICE GIVEN $11,500 BY THE HOOLEY!

Holy Hooley! Irish eyes are smilin' at the massive success of the 2007 Irish Hooley. None more than those who benefited from the proceeds, including the Claddagh Irish Dancers, the Dubuqueland Irish Association, and most of all Hospice of Dubuque, pictured to the left with event organizer Ken Siegert. He presented them with a check for $11,500 at a volunteer appreciation picnic at Louis Murphy Park.
